John Rogers (1906-1985) “Mountain Farm Landscape”, watercolor on mount, signed lower right.
An artist for The New York Times 1928 to 1930, and artist and illustrator for the New York Post from 1928 to 1930, John Rogers was active in New York State, living in Brooklyn and Elmont. He was a watercolor instructor at the Garden City Adult School from 1955 to 1970, and from 1957 to 1970, he was involved in Adult Programs for Elmont Adult Programming.
Rogers was a student at the Art Students League. Membership included the American Watercolor Society, Brooklyn Society of American Artists, American Artists Professional League and Art League of Nassau County, which he served as President in 1966.
