Portrait of Old Giuseppe Garibaldi – Chalk, Charcoal and Oil Pastels – 1880 1880

Garibaldi is a wonderful colored original drawing (chalk, charcoal and oil pastels) by an anonymous artist in 1880. A superb drawing representing the Italian hero of the unification of the peninsula in an official and live portrait. With a brief hand-written description in pencil on the left margin and in Italian: ” Eseguito dal vero, durante l’inaugurazione del monumento (.) , Novembre 1880”. In very good conditions, except for some minor defects on the edges and some light discolorations on the margins. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price.
